VISUALIZED SOURCES / RESEARCH DOSSIER
Visualized Sources.
Let readers follow the provenance.
Primary documents are data with context, not decorations for a history graphic.
From image to argument
A manual, changelog, letter or paper can establish a claim only when the relevant passage is identified. We separate the document’s authorship, the statement it contains and our interpretation.
Record limitations
An archived copy may have missing pages, unclear provenance or a later reprint. Source cards should show when the underlying artifact was created and how it entered the present archive.
Readable without animation
Interactive overlays are supplementary. The cited assertion, evidence class and stable URL remain visible as text so readers and assistive technologies can inspect the record.
CONTRIBUTE A DOCUMENTED FINDING
Provide a stable source URL, original date, relevant passage and permission information where needed.
